General Orientation will begin at 5:30 pm and the Intensive Training portion will conclude by 7:45pm at the latest.

Did you know that Texas ranks 2nd in the country for trafficking prevalence, with more than 300,000 annual victims statewide?
NFNL is seeking volunteers to #StandforHer and be committed to helping our women and youth throughout their recovery process.
In orientation, you will learn about New Friends New Life as an organization, as well as be provided with an overview of sex trafficking--how it can happen, why this happens so easily and even the type of people who buy girls. Lastly, we will share the opportunities that are available to you as a volunteer and what you need to do to get started. We believe everyone has something to contribute so we place individuals where they are most passionate and gifted to aid the women and families in our program.
If you are looking to be involved as a ProtectHER or DefendHER, we also ask that you stay for the Intensive Training.
In this training we will discuss the following:
- Trauma: Defining what this is, what it looks like in our members and how you can help
- Cultural Competency: Being aware of who you are and who you aren't
- Volunteer Do's and Don'ts: What your role is within NFNL
- Healthy Boundaries: How to say 'no' in a polite manner
- Reporting Responsibilities: How to report abuse and when
